Shelley Sparks is a Landscape Architect and a humble gardener. Through the practice of
Landscape Design, she creates harmony, healing and beneficial qualities to her client's
garden environments. She believes that as we bring our environments into balance
we live happier and healthier lives, benefit all that we relate to and help heal the earth.
Shelley opened her firm, Harmony Gardens in 1993. Her practice is devoted primarily
to single family residences because she is committed to helping individuals create the
gardens of their dreams. She believes that every garden is co creation between herself,
the client, the architecture and the land.
She was previously employed as a senior associate at Raymond Hansen Associates
where she designed numerous single and multifamily housing projects as well as
commercial and industrial projects. She also worked for a Fortune 500 builder
developer as the in house Landscape Coordinator for tract and multifamily housing
projects in San Diego, Las Vegas and Los Angeles environs.
She has been licensed as a Landscape Architect for more than 25 years and has
designed award winning residential landscapes. She has taught classes in landscape
subjects including "The Garden As a Healing Space" and “Horticultural Therapy for
Landscape Design” , Elements of a Healing Garden for Special Needs Children” for
U.C.L.A. Extension and "How to Design Your Own Garden" for the Learning Annex.
She was a guest designer on HGN “Surprise Gardener”.
