The owner of this property is a daring artist who wants color, magic and comfort to be expressed in her landscape. The front yard has bold sprays of bougainvillea and an herb garden. In the rear a beautiful pavillion is used for gatherings near the soft sound of water. Comfortable seating is found in various parts of the yard.

A space for contemplation and solitude was an important aspect of the design. From a deck is seen the arbor with will when the plant materials fill in, be an entry to a private garden space. Inside the space is a sacred shape expressed by a defining edge and reinforced with plants that flower in proscribed colors. Shapes such as this have been used for centuries for the purpose of meditation.
